Caolan has done wonders for my running. My weekly workouts are thoughtful, directed and specific. Before working with Caolan I logged many "training miles" that were in reality many ambiguous miles. I ran often, however I was doing very little to accelerate my performance. I had a vague idea of what a tempo, interval, recovery and long run were but lacked the understanding of what paces, distance and frequency I should be completing these runs. By following a professionally constructed schedule I have set significant PR's in every distance I have raced. I am a healthier runner and because of Caolan's experience and advice, I have sidestepped injuries that would have likely interrupted my training. Most importantly I have gained confidence and confidence is priceless when you are lining up at the start line!

I started running when I was 44 years old with a local running group, using run/walk training intervals. I completed several 5Ks, 10Ks and 1/2 Marathons, however, I was always plagued with running injuries. I "met" Caolan through social media, and hired her to help me train for my first Marathon. I like how she not only explains things (ie, training, nutrition, running terms), but she is very encouraging and supportive. She is always available to answer my questions, and tells me I’m ready especially when I’m having doubts. She has helped me transition from run/walk intervals to running without any walk breaks! My self-confidence, endurance and pace have improved immensely! She has helped me train for 2 marathons, and helped me achieve a 22 minute PR in a 1/2 Marathon. I always dreamed of being a coached runner, though I never thought I was "good enough" to have a coach. I thought coaching was only for really fast or elite runners. Caolan is everyone's coach, from the beginning runner wanting to run a 5k to the experienced marathoner or ultramarathoner who strives for a personal best. After just 5 months of training with Caolan, my marathon time went from 4:01 to a Boston Qualifying time of 3:44. Her training methods work and one training cycle builds upon the next. The quality workouts are challenging, but fun, exhilarating and boost confidence on race day. The easy days are truly easy. I have learned so much and continue to learn from her daily. I ran my first marathon training myself, thinking it couldn't be that hard. I followed a program off my phone. I am a competitive person and thought I could finish strong and under 4 hours. Yeah...that didn't happen! I went out too fast and my legs cramped and I know I didn't fuel properly for the race. After that bomb, I hired Caolan to be my coach. She has trained me for the Colorado Marathon, Grandma's Marathon and Madison Marathon which was my PR for the year with a 4:02. Each marathon I got stronger and faster. I'm waiting to see what my spring brings me for Mountains 2 Beaches in California!

Caolan has been wonderful. I've only been working with her for a very short time but in that time, I've discovered a coach who actually cares how you feel, how your run was, what YOUR goals are (not hers) and also how real life obligations have to be worked into your training schedule. She is great with feedback and has been a very involved coach. Even though I don't live anywhere near her, she has been more of a coach to me than the one I had who lived down the street. This is my first time using an online coach and I am very pleased. I've gotten over a 10 min PR in my last half marathon and am looking forward to many years of healthy running with Caolan's guidance.
